We are scientists

We had a great time learning all about UV lights. We learned that lights travel in straight lines and how the colours of the rainbow are made. We got to sort fluorescent and non-fluorescent objects in piles and we played a detective game to find a glow in the dark note with special torches.

Rainbow Fish paintings in Forest School

During Forest School, we used powder paints to create our own underwater scenes.

Fun in the Snow

On Friday 1st February, Hawthorn Class enjoyed their first snowy experience in school!

During their weekly Forest School sessions in the autumn term, Hawthorn Class enjoyed taking part in a number of activties: building minibeast shelters; creating art out of natural materials, as well as identifying and photographing different minibeasts.
Hawthorn Class had a great time in Sydenham Woods on Thursday 22nd November; they explored the woodland trees and identified changes in the season so far.

Hawthorn Class used their fingers to paint poppies as part of their learning about

Remembrance Day.

Horniman Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
