KS2 Class teacher

The Role

We have one full time, permanent post, starting in September 2017, to replace the sudden departure of one of our teachers. The post is for a KS2 teacher, the year group is flexible but successful applicant must be comfortable teaching across Key Stage 2.

 In our most recent report, Ofsted said:

  • Pupils behave well and feel safe. They have very positive resilient attitudes towards learning and life. The school council, eco council and work on sustainability help prepare them for later life as active, responsible citizens.
  • The breadth of learning at this school is extensive. We have a very wide range of highly popular clubs at lunchtime and after school supplement well-taught lessons during the school day.
  • Music, drama, dance, outdoor learning in the woods, philosophy and debates successfully extend pupils’ experience and help prepare them for later life and learning.
  • Leaders, including governors and the Head teacher, are successfully driving improvements in teaching and achievement, especially in writing.

Salary details

Salary will be according to experience on inner London pay scale.

Horniman Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; therefore the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as well as qualifications and reference checks (prior to interview where possible). Candidates will be subject to satisfactory medical clearance; as well as proof of eligibility to work in the UK. This post is also subject to disqualification by association regulations under the Childcare Act 2009.
